Concept Illumination chosen to supply energy efficient LED lighting solutions to Concordia University

Concept Illumination was chosen to supply Concordia University with energy-saving, LED-based lighting for one third of the University’s Hall Building lobby. When combining saved energy and reduced maintenance, the pilot project is expected to significantly reduce lighting costs while maintaining the highest quality light output.

Yves Gilbert, Director of Engineering and Building Performance at the University explained, “We chose Concept Illumination’s PAR38s mainly because of the energy reduction they offer, and the cost savings – especially on maintenance. We have very high ceilings in the building’s lobby which means that changing a light bulb is not as easy as it sounds. We will make savings without compromising the quality of light in the building.”

Daniel Herz, Concept Illumination Regional Sales Manager said, “With a lifetime in excess of 50,000 hours compared to 2,000 of a standard halogen bulb, the University will see a significant reduction in maintenance time and cost. Because we offer a complete range of MR 16, PAR 20, PAR 30 and PAR 38 bulbs that are drop-in replacements for conventional light fixtures, we are able to quickly transform a building such as this into an aesthetically pleasing, energy efficient, low maintenance lighting infrastructure.”
